"You're mean to someone," Finn said, pointedly looking at Santana and smirking successfully, "the Universe gets back at you and something mean happens to you. You're good to someone, the Universe does something good to you back. It's all the Divine Law, or something. Carmen."

"Karma, Finn," Rachel corrected gently, sipping at her soy latte. "It's Karma."

"Right. I get those two mixed up a lot."

"What else is new?" Santana shook her head, twining her fingers with Brittany's and smiling at her. Brittany gave a small snort into her coffee. She leaned into the blonde, resting her head on her shoulder.

"So, Santana, you better watch out," Finn calmly stated, crossing her arms over his chest and leaning backwards on his chair, balancing it on the two back legs. "You've been mean to everyone at this school. Eventually, they're gonna get back at you."

"Oh, pipe down, Finnocence!" she muttered, biting into her doughnut. "It can takes years for Karma to work."

"But it does eventually!"

She rolled her eyes and pointed at each person sitting at the table. "You've all gotten back at me, I believe, for any wrong I've done you. So we're even. Even Finn here outed me," and here she broke off to kick him under the table, sending him sprawling backwards and falling onto his back. She snorted. "I believe, actually, that by the laws of Karma, what you did was much worse than what I did. So technically, the Universe has to pay you back!"

"Fuck you, Lopez."

"No thanks, I've got Brittany for that."

Puck gave a small 'oh!' of appreciation and winked at her. "Nice one."

"Thanks."

Blaine, looking on with admiration, looked at Kurt sitting next to him and smiled. "Well, I think I must have done something amazing to get Kurt out of all this…"

Santana shot up and looked at Brittany. "That's right, I must have done something pretty amazing to have gotten you as a girlfriend…" She turned to Finn and stuck her middle finger up at him. "Suck it, Hudson. I'm an amazing person, I got Brittany!"

As Finn huffed back into his seat and ignored Rachel's attempts at cheering him up, Brittany turned to look at her, frowning slightly. "Be nicer and you'll get nice things back."

"Fine, from now on I'll be so nice-"

"Cotton candy will melt in your mouth?" Mercedes prompted from across the table, raising an eyebrow.

"No, actually. I'll be so nice butter will."

"Good luck with that," Quinn joked, crossing her legs and tossing her empty coffee cup into the nearest trash can.

Santana winked. "Oh, don't worry. I'll be good, I swear. Besides…" she turned to look back at Brittany, smiling. "I kinda want to keep this one…"
